About Interco
The 400,000+ sqft. Interco Metaltronics recycling facility is comprised of five buildings on more than 40 acres centrally located on the Illinois-side of St. Louis in the shadows of the Gateway Arch. The facility boasts a 145,000 sqft. processing plant dedicated to the processing of computers, electronics, and batteries with the remainder of the indoor facility used for the processing of nonferrous industrial metals.
One of the first R2:2013 certified recyclers’ in the world, Interco recycles nonferrous industrial metals and specializes in difficult to process alloys, lithium-ion batteries, metallic powders, and solar panels.

1. Nonferrous Metal
Interco specializes in Nonferrous Metal Recycling. As a result, the company buys, processes, trades and recycles a broad range of non-ferrous metals.
2. Industrial Recycling
Interco provides comprehensive industrial recycling services to manufacturers, distributors, ITAD, asset management professionals, and warehousing and logistics companies throughout North America.
3. Computers & Electronics
Founded in 1996 as an eScrap recycler and processor, Interco buys, dismantles, and processes 4 million pounds of eScrap every month.
4. EV Batteries
Interco has the certified processes and custom solutions needed to recycle used electric vehicle batteries.
5. Mixed Loads
Interco specializes in recycling mixed loads of nonferrous metals.
6. Straight Loads
Interco can receive up to 55 straight loads – nearly 1,000 metric tons – on a given day.
7. End Dumps
Interco has the outdoor space to receive and store material originating from more than 1,200 dump trailers.
8. Flatbeds
Oftentimes scrap material must be transported by flatbed due to its size and/or weight.
