Spot rubber prices decline

The rubber prices moved down anticipating better arrivals in the days ahead as rains subsided giving way to bright sunny days since the last two days. RSS 4 declined to Rs.97.50 from Rs.98 and Rs.98.50 a kg respectively at Kottayam and Kochi. Marginal selling pressure was felt in the main marketing centres and most of the grades fell with an improvement in volumes.

The rubber futures continued to remain weak quoting the November contract at Rs.98 (99.68) a kg on MCX. Spot prices were (Rs./kg): RSS-4: 97.50 (98); RSS-5: 95 (95.50); ungraded : 92.75(93.50); ISNR 20:93.50 (94.50) and latex 60 per cent : 63.50 (63.50).
