Spot rubber rules steady

Physical rubber prices were steady on Saturday. The weekend session was rather inactive and neutral as the domestic futures continued to rule weak on NMCE.

Sheet rubber closed flat at Rs 140 a kg amidst scattered transactions. The volumes were dull.

The February futures weakened further to Rs 143 (143.80), March to Rs 146 (146.80) and April to Rs 149.90 (151.50) a kg while the May futures finished its opening session at Rs 153.08 a kg for RSS 4 on National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE).

Spot rates were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 140 (140); RSS-5: 134 (134); ungraded: 130 (130); ISNR 20: 133 (133) and latex 60 per cent: 90 (90).
