Nickel improves on industrial demand

Mumbai, Jan. 15

Nickel rose further on the non-ferrous metal market on Friday on hectic buying by stockists and renewed demand from industrial users. Copper cable, copper wire bar and copper scrap heavy also edged higher on increased demand from consumer industries. Tin, brass and select copper prices fell owing to lack of industrial demand. Nickel hardened by Rs 20 a kg to Rs 930. Copper cable scrap and copper wire bar moved up by Rs 2 a kg each to Rs 365 and Rs 393 respectively. Copper scrap heavy also inched up by Re 1 to Rs 351. Tin dropped by Rs 5 a kg to Rs 935. Copper utensils scrap, copper sheets cutting and brass utensils scrap all slipped by Rs 2 a kg each to Rs 329, Rs 346 and Rs 252 respectively. Copper armature and brass sheets cutting also softened by Re 1 a kg each to Rs 351 and Rs 259 respectively. —PTI
