Antimony is a silvery, lustrous gray metal. It is a highly toxic metal that is largely produced in China. It is estimated that around 60% of antimony is used in flame retardants and about 20% is used as alloys for batteries and solders. The other widespread applications are that it is used as an agent to remove bubbles from TV screens and also the use of antimony in semi-conductor industries is increasing rapidly.
