Hind Copper lowers product prices

Hindustan Copper Ltd on Tuesday lowered provisional prices for the sale of its copper products in January on expectations of a decline in prices on the London Metal Exchange in coming months. Its 8-mm standard copper rods have been provisionally priced at Rs.2,74,900 a tonne for January, a senior company official said, down from Rs.289, 410/tonne in December. HCL has also cut its provisional prices for copper rods of more than 8 mm in diameter to Rs.276,500 /tonne from Rs.291,090/ tonne in December, the company official, who declined to be named, said. The company has also cut the price of copper cathode to Rs.271,900/tonnes from December’s Rs.286,210/tonne.

Moderate fall in nickel, tin

Prices of nickel, tin, zinc and copper declined moderately on the non-ferrous metals market on Tuesday due to lack of industrial demand. Nickel declined by Rs.15 per kg to Rs.1365, tin by Rs.8 per kg to Rs.790, copper armature by Rs.2 per kg to Rs.324, zinc by Rs.2 per kg to Rs.126, Copper cable scrap by Re.1 per kg to Rs.334 and copper scrap heavy by Re.1 per kg to Rs.330. Copper utensils scrap moved by Rs.2 per kg to Rs.312, brass utensils scrap by Re1 per kg to Rs.247.
