‘Nalco to sell 30,000 t alumina’

National Aluminium Co, India’s biggest alumina producer, agreed to sell 30,000 tonnes of alumina at $376.1 per tonnes to a Chinese trader for December delivery, Chairman Mr.C.R. Pradhan said in a phone interview. Mr. Pradhan expects alumina to average $350 a tonne next year compared with $332.2 a tonne this year, according to data from UK-based Metal Bulletin Plc. Nalco, as the company is known, exports 64 per cent of its 1.6 million tonnes a year of alumina production at prices linked to the London Metal Exchange.
