NALCO to sell 240,000 t alumina

National Aluminium Co will call bids on Thursday to sell 240,000 tonnes of the aluminium –making material. Buyers may have until Nov.10 to submit bids, Chairman Mr. C.R. Pradhan said from Vishakhapatanam. The company sold 300,000 tonnes of the material in the past two weeks through a 1-year contract. It sold 150,000 tonnes to a London-based trader at 12.88 per cent of the aluminium price on the London Metal Exchange, Mr. Pradhan said on OCto.17. National Aluminium exports 64 per cent of its 1.6 million tonnes a year production at prices linked to those on the London Metal Exchange.
