Malaysian stainless steel fabricators are considering switching to metal with zero nickel content as record nickel prices are squeezing their cash flows, a senior industry official said. Mr. Mark Lim, chairman of Malaysian Iron and steel Industry Federation, told Reuters that stainless steel mills faced cash flow problems as the rocketing nickel prices were jerking up the benchmark 304 stainless steel prices to all-time highs in Asia.
