Copper up on industrial demand

Metals displayed a mixed trend on the non- ferrous metal market on Thursday as prices of copper and brass moved up further on renewed industrial demand. Nickel and zinc eased on reduced offtake from consumer industries. Copper cable scrap, copper wire bar and brass sheets cutting all advanced by Re 1 a kg each to Rs 368, Rs 396 and Rs 263 respectively. Nickel fell by Rs 2 a kg to Rs 1,060 and zinc softened by Re 1 a kg to Rs 129. — PTI
