Nickel down on global trend

Select base metals softened in the wholesale non-ferrous metal market on Wednesday on selling by stockists triggered by weakening trend at London Metal Exchange. Traders said apart form weakening trend at London Metal Exchange (LME), reduced industrial offtake also had its impact on the trading sentiments. Nickel plate 4x4, 9x9, and 4x24 lost Rs.15 each at Rs.2,315-2,360, Rs.2,315 and Rs.2,315-2,385 per kg respectively. Copper wire scrap, copper super rod, copper wire bar and copper mixed scrap were also quoted lower by Rs.5 each at Rs.32, Rs.362, and Rs.347 per kg respectively.
