Spot rubber improves

Spot rubber closed firm on Saturday. The market opened weak but improved later following the gains in domestic rubber futures on NMCE. Sheet rubber moved up further to Rs 132 from Rs 131 a kg after hitting an intraday low of Rs 130.50 a kg on early trades. The trend was partially mixed as RSS 5 remained unchanged amidst comparatively dull volumes.

RSS 4 improved at its December futures to Rs 133.46 (132.32), January to Rs 134.76 (133.97), February to Rs 136.70 (135.78) and March to Rs 138.71 (137.96) a kg on National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE).

Spot rates were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 132 (131); RSS-5: 128 (128.00); ungraded: 127 (125); ISNR 20: 126 (124) and latex 60 per cent: 80 (76.50).
