Manganese price may rise

Consolidated Minerals Ltd, which supplies about 5 per cent of the world’s manganese, said it expects ‘significant price increases’, for sales of the steel-making raw material to China in August to October,

The delivered price of Manganese ore will climb to between $7.25 and $7.50 per dry tonne once negotiations are complete, compared with an average price for the second half of the 2007 fiscal year of $3.55, the company said today.
