Metals firm on strong demand

Most of the base metals firmed up on the non-ferrous metal market on Monday on the back of better offtake from stockists. Copper cable scrap and copper wire bar rose by Rs 4 a kg each to Rs 325 and Rs 353 respectively from last Saturday's closing levels. Brass sheets cutting firmed up by Rs 3 a kg to Rs 230. Copper utensils scrap, copper sheets cutting and zinc moved up by Rs 2 a kg each to Rs 292, Rs 306 and Rs 121 respectively. Copper scrap heavy, copper armiture, brass utensils scrap and aluminium utensils scrap also edged up by a rupee per kilo each to Rs 319, Rs 311, Rs 221 and Rs 83, respectively.
