Nickel gains on sustained demand

Mumbai, Sept. 23

In restricted activity, nickel prices strengthened further on the non-ferrous metal market on Wednesday due to sustained demand from stockists amid firming trend in the overseas market. Copper and brass also moved up owing to good demand from consuming industries. Nickel firmed up further by Rs 13 a kg to Rs 960. Copper scrap heavy, copper sheets cutting and brass utensils scrap also looked up by Re 1 a kg each to Rs 319, Rs 309 and Rs 219 respectively.
