Spot rubber prices unchanged

Kottayam, Sept. 22 Spot rubber ended unchanged on Tuesday. Most of the traders preferred to remain inactive as the trendsetting TOCOM is closed till Wednesday. Sheet rubber finished steady at Rs 106.50 a kg amidst dull volumes. The only loser of the day was latex that fell sharply on extremely low demand. There were no fresh enquiries from the tyre sector, sources confirmed. FUTURES IMPROVE In futures the October contract improved to Rs 108.70 ( 107.99), November to Rs 109.97 ( 109.08), December to Rs 111.34 ( 110.24) and January to Rs 112.85 ( 111.75) a kg for RSS 4 on National Multi Commodity Exchange ( NMCE). RSS 3 weakened to Rs 105.78 ( 106.62) a kg on Singapore Commodity Exchange ( SICOM). The grade ( spot) slipped to Rs 105.87 ( 106.01) a kg at Bangkok. The Tokyo Commodity Exchange ( TOCOM) remained closed consecutively for the second day on Tuesday. Spot rates were ( Rs/ kg): RSS- 4: 106.50 ( 106.50); RSS- 5: 102.50 ( 102.50); ungraded: 98 ( 98); ISNR 20: 96 ( 96) and latex 60 per cent: 67 ( 69).
