Global zinc market in surplus

London, Sept. 21

The global zinc market was in a surplus of 134,000 tonnes in January to July, the World Bureau of Metal Statistics said. This compares with a surplus of 83,000 tonnes in the same period a year ago, the WBMS said. Refined zinc production was 513,000 tonnes lower on-year at 6.26 million tonnes. Refined zinc consumption 564,000 tonnes lower on-year at 6.126 million tonnes.
