Hind copper lowers prices

Hindustan Copper Ltd has reduced the price of its 8-millimeters standard copper rods for May by 5 percent on month to Rs3, 43,700 a tonne, senior company official said Monday. The copper rods were sold for Rs3, 61,752/tonne in April. The official said HCL had also cut its prices for copper rods of more than 8 millimeter in diameter to Rs3, 45,400/tonne from Rs3, 63,546/tonne in April. It also cut the price of copper cathode to Rs3,40,400/tonne from Rs3,58,267 in April.
