Spot rubber prices unchanged

Spot rubber closed unchanged on Thursday. According to sources, there were no trendsetting factors to keep the market live during the session.

Most of the traders stayed back waiting for a favourable turn in sentiments. Sheet rubber closed static at Rs 98.75 a kg amidst scattered transactions. The volumes were low.

Futures gain

The August futures for RSS 4 closed at Rs 98.48 (97.78), September at Rs 95.89 (95.19), October at Rs 94 (93.25) and November at Rs 93.75 (93.10) a kg on National Multi Commodity Exchange (NMCE). RSS 3 firmed up at its August futures to ?177 (?175.6) (Rs 89.69), September to ?174.4 (?172), October to ?177.2 (?174.7), November to ?179.8 (?177.3), December to ?182.2 (?179.7) and January to ?184.7 (?181.9) a kg during the day session on TOCOM. The September futures for the grade closed at ?175, October at ?181, November at ?183.8, December at ?185.6 and January at ?188.2 a kg during the night session.

RSS 3 slipped to Rs 91.60 (91.65) a kg on Singapore Commodity Exchange (SICOM). Its spot improved to Rs 91.74 (91.09) a kg at Bangkok.

Spot rates were: RSS-4: 98.75 (98.75); RSS-5: 96.50 (96.50); ungraded: 94.50 (94.50); ISNR 20: 88.50 (88.50) and latex 60 per cent: 80 (80).
