Nickel improves on global cues

The rising trend in nickel continued on the non-ferrous metal market on Thursday on heavy stockists buying driven by firming trend in overseas market. Tin also continued to rule firm owing to good demand from industrial users. Copper and brass weakened further in the absence of worthwhile buying support. Nickel shot up by Rs 35 a kg to Rs 835 and tin also rose by Rs 7 a kg to Rs 857. Copper cable scrap, copper utensils scrap, copper wire bar and copper sheets cutting fell by Rs 2 a kg each to Rs 274, Rs 253, Rs 302 and Rs 262 respectively. Copper sheets cutting and brass utensils scrap also eased by Re 1 a kg each to Rs 271 and Rs 197.
