Hindustan Copper Ltd said it plans to sell 5,000 tonnes of copper concentrate after the closure of one of its two smelters left with it surplus raw material. The copper concentrate will be sold either in the local market or overseas, Finance Director Mr M. Samajpati said in a telephone interview from Kolkata, where the company is based. The company will invite bids for the sale, he said, without giving details on the time. Hindustan Copper's mine are estimated to hold combined reserves of 310 million tonnes of copper concentrate.
