Nalco sells 25,000 t alumina

National Aluminium Co has sold 25,000 tonnes of the material at $423 a tonne, its chairman, Mr. C.R. Pradhan, has said. The buyer is a West Asia-based company, he said from New Delhi, without identifying the company. The alumina will be shipped next month, he said. Smelters needed two tonnes of alumina, a white powder refined from bauxite, to make one tonne of aluminium.
