Nickel recovers on firm LME

Base metal prices recovered in the wholesale non-ferrous metal market on Thursday with prices improving on stockists buying, triggered by overnight rise at London Metal Exchange. Nickel prices of 4x4, 9x9 and 4x24 improved by Rs.20 each at Rs.2,275-2,325, Rs.2,275 and Rs,2,275-2,345 per kg respectively. Zinc slab and dross moved up by Rs.5 each at Rs.217 and Rs.167 a kg respectively. Tin ingot was up by Rs.3 at Rs.773 per kg, while solder (40 per cent) quoted higher by Rs.5 at Rs.220 a kg on fresh demand from solder makers. Copper wire scrap, copper super d rod, copper wire bar, copper mixed scrap and c c rod all edged up by REs.2 at Rs.352, Rs.372, Rs.373, Rs.339 and Rs.352 per kg respectively.
