Copper gained $146 to $6,755 per tonne. LME tracked copper stockpiles declined or 0.8 percent to 187,775 tonnes. For nearly two weeks inventories has dropped to the lowest this year as demand improved. The Beijing based customs office said that China more than double imports in February from a year ago to 152,651. Among other metals traded on the LME, aluminium raised $27 to $2,777, lead gained $3 to $1,920 and tin increased $175 to $14,050. Zinc advanced $50 to $3,170
