Moderate rise in metal prices

Metal prices firmed up moderately on the non-ferrous metal market here on Tuesday on good demand from industrial users coupled with higher advices from London Metal Exchange. Nickel rose by Rs 15 a kg to Rs 710 and tin by Rs 10 a kg to Rs 750. Copper cable scrap, copper scrap heavy, copper wire bar and copper sheets cutting firmed up by Rs 7 a kg each to Rs 223, Rs 222, Rs 251 and Rs 217, respectively. Copper armiture rose by Rs 6 a kg to Rs 219, copper utensils scrap by Rs 4 to Rs 205, lead by Rs 3 to Rs 79, zinc by Rs 2 to Rs 76. Aluminium ingots and aluminium utensils scrap also ended slightly higher by a rupee a kg each to Rs 92.
