Copper gains 5% on LME

Industrial metals rose on Friday, with copper surging more than 5 per cent as sentiment across the board improved.

Copper for three-months delivery on the London Metal Exchange traded at $3,390 a tonne in the open outcry trade. Aluminium was higher at $1,480 against $1,478. Zinc was unchanged at $1,265 atonne while lead rose to $1,170 from $1,154. Nickel rose to $10,900 a tonne from $10,695 and tin traded at $11,100/11,200 a tonne against Thursday's $11,005.
