China allows 26 m tonnes coal exports

China has approved a coal export quota of 26 million tonnes, the nation's first for 2009, said an official at Shenhua Group Corp. Shenhua, China's largest producer of the fuel, can export as much as 10.7 mt under this so-called first batch of coal shipments approved by the government this year, the Beijing-based official in charge of overseas sales, who declined to be named, said.
