Global aluminium production falls

Aluminium output worldwide fell 6.7 per cent in November as production dropped to a 19-month low in China, the world's largest supplier, according to the International Aluminium Institute. Global production was 3.07 million tonnes for the month compared with 3.29 million in October, the London-based industry group said on its Web site. Output in China declined 10 per cent to 991,000 tonnes, the lowest since April 2007. Daily output averaged 102,400 tonnes a day in November compared with 106,200 tonnes a day in October.
