The domestic rubber prices were almost steady on Wednesday. Sheet rubber RSS4 closed flat at Rs 88 a kg as on Tuesday. The revised quote from the tyre sector was even lower at Rs 87.50 a kg for the grade. Volumes continued to be dull.

The rubber futures on the Tokyo Commodity Exchange extended gains at the opening, attracting short covering coupled with fresh buying amidst higher oil prices and yen's weakening against dollar.
