Aluminium output rises 0.1%

Aluminium production worldwide rose 0.1 per cent in September, the International Aluminium Institute said on its Web site. Production averaged 108,600 tonnes a day last month compared with 108,500 tonnes in August, the London-based industry group said. Global output of 3.26 million tonnes was up 2.6 per cent from September last year. Output in China, the largest producer of the metal, climbed 3.3 per cent to 1.16 million tones.
