Mixed trend in spot rubber

The rubber prices showed a mixed mood on Friday. RSS 4 closed unchanged at Rs 90 a kg as on Thursday. The presence of certain major consuming industries was felt in the marketing centres but there were no fresh quotations from them possibly due to the hesitancy to establish their interest in the raw material at the prevailing levels.

Futures mixe

On the Tokyo Commodity Exchange, the October contract for RSS 3 finished firm at ¥180.6 (Rs 96.99) against ¥178.6 while the grade declined at its November futures to ¥175.2 (¥181), December to ¥175.4 (¥179.6), January to ¥169.9 (¥179.3), February to ¥172.3 (¥185.1) and March futures to ¥175.2 (¥191.2) a kg on TOCOM. RSS 3 spot improved to Rs 93.43 (91.85) a kg at Bangkok. Spot rates were (Rs/kg): RSS-4: 90 (90); RSS-5: 88 (88); ungraded: 85.25 (86); ISNR 20: 86 (86) and latex 60 per cent: 65.50 (67.50).
