'Global copper market in deficit'

The refined copper market was in a 130,000-tonne production deficit in January to June, the International Copper Study Group said Monday. This compares with a production deficit of around 265,000 tonnes for the same period in 2007. ICSG said June was in a production surplus of around 15,000 tonnes.
