Key distant Tokyo rubber futures closed higher for eight straight sessions on Friday as increasing worries over supplies prompted active fund buying, with improved technical trends assisting the uptrend. The key Tokyo Commodity Exchange rubber contract for February delivery closed up 0.7 yen or 0.2 per cent at 320.7 yen per kg.
