Copper, tin price forecasts raised

Copper and tin forecasts for this year and next were raised by Deutsche Bank AG, while the 2008 lead and zinc estimates were cut. The copper forecast was increased 10 per cent to $8,279 a tonne for 2008 while the 2009 estimate was raised 17 per cent to $8,074, the bank said in an e-mailed report. Tin will sell for $20,250 a tonne this year, 30 per cent more than previously forecast. The metal will be priced at $17,251 a tonne next year, a 73 per cent increase in the estimate. Deutsche Bank cut its lead price forecast by 7 per cent to $2,252 a tonne for this year. Nickel estimates were reduced by 10 per cent for this year and next, to $26,539 and $25,105 a tonne respectively.
