Nalco to sell alumina at $457.57

National Aluminium Co has agreed to sell 30,000 tonnes of the aluminium-making material at $457.57 a tonne to a Johannesburg-based bank. The alumina is for delivery next month, its Chairman, Mr C.R. Pradhan, said through phone from Bhubaneswar, where the company is based. He didn't identify the bank. Nalco, as the company is known, exports 64 per cent of its 1.6 million tonnes of annual output of alumina at prices linked to the London Metal Exchange.
