Steel futures debut on LME

The LME traded its first steel futures contract on the exchange floor on Monday and saw the price rise above the $1,000 a tonne. The Mediterranean steel futures contract for delivery July 28 traded first at $995 tonne. The Mediterranean futures for delivery at the same time traded a second time at $1,005. The Far East contract traded at $985, it said. In total, 3 lots of the Far East and 2 lots of the Mediterranean were traded.
