Copper futures settle higher

Copper traded on the Shanghai Futures Exchange settled mostly slightly higher on Thursday on talk of a likely fall in stocks at exchange warehouses. The benchmark June 2008 copper contract rose CNY80 to CNY65,020 a tonne. Turnover for all copper futures rose to 163,910 lots from 114,836 lots. Copper traded at the Changjiang Nonferrous Metals Trading Market, a major spot metals market in Shanghai, was quoted at CNY64,750-64,950/tonne. Aluminium and zinc futures settled down.
