Copper futures settle steady

Copper futures traded on the Shanghai Futures Exchange settled little changed on Monday as investors waited for direction from the London Metal Exchange, which is closed for the Easter Monday holiday. The benchmark June 2008 copper contract settled CNY100 higher at CNY64,120 a tonne. Turnover for all copper futures fell to 121,742 lots from 129,122 lots on Friday. Copper traded at the Changjiang Nonferrous Metals Trading Market, a major spot metals market in Shanghai, was quoted at CNY64,900-65,100/tonne, unchanged from Friday. Aluminium and zinc futures also settled little changed.
