Environmental Cleaning Solutions S.A. (ECSSA) is a material recovery facility based in Port au Prince, Haiti. We deal with recyclable scrap materials in order to change our nation.

The major recyclable materials we operate on are plastic, paper and scrap metals.
We deal with PET (polyethylene terephthalate), HDPE (high-density polyethylene), LDPE (low-density polyethylene), HMS (heavy melting scrap) 1&2, tin, aluminium cans and OCC (corrugated cartons). We also offer paper in forms of baled and cardboard.

ECSSA was started in 2010 after Mr. Edouard Carrie (Founder) dived into a recycling project while studying at the University of Tampa. Seeing the potential effect recycling could have over his nation, he started ECSSA. In a short time, ECSSA has grown from a handful of suppliers to an internationally recognized company employing thousands of Haitians with jobs.

Our mission is to change the nation through recycling. Through a focus of first stage of recycling process, ECSSA not only cleans and reforms Haiti, but also provides job opportunities to thousands of Haitians. Our goal is to collect over 80 tons of solid waste per day.

ECSSA as a recycling center offers opportunities to scrap collectors which help them to increase their income and also assist them to lead a better life by providing their children with better education and healthy food. We work hard for continuous improvement of environment throughout Haiti, by removing wastes from the streets.

The work Mr. Edouard Carrie has done through ECSSA has earned him the University of Tampa’s ‘2010 Entrepreneur of the Year’ as well as the honorable ‘Digicel Entrepreneur of the Year 2011’ in the Environment category.

‘We are a company that believes that recycling can change a nation. And strive everyday to do just that.’ We dedicate ourselves to clean up the environment through recycling.
