Battery recycling saves the earth planet and helps to maintain a healthy environment for the next generation. Waste or unused lead batteries are harmful to environment and are considered as hazardous waste. More than 85 % of the lead acid batteries can be recycled effectively without polluting the environment. Most of the batteries contain lead and it is easy to recycle and the impurities present in it can be removed by melting it several times. During the lead acid recycling, plastic and insulation are removed separately as they are combustible in nature. High heated smelting furnaces are used to smelt the lead compound and reproduce lead from it.
