Rubber comes from trees and it's extracted in the form of latex. A diagonal cut is made on a rubber tree very early in the morning for the sap to start flowing. The sap has to be very good. Many products are made from rubber: balloons, pencil erasers, elastic bands-but generally, half of all rubber products are tires. One of the ways we can reuse car tires is to make tire sandals, like the one that's used in the tropics. In the tropics, people make these sandals because they usually have long feet and don't bother about making a fashion statement. They are very durable and can be used for rough use. Road tested to 50,000 miles!
