If you've painted your room or house, you're sure to have leftover paint. Before buying paint, calculate how much paint you will need-this avoids wastage. If, after painting, you realize that you've still got some paint remaining, allow small amounts of the paint to air dry (with the lid open). It will take a couple of days but when it's thick enough, you can remove it with a stick and put it into a trash bag. Alternatively, you can use an off-the-shelf product to solidify the paint. You can also roll in some newspaper to dry the paint quickly. Yet another way is to pour in some cat litter then dump it into a heavy duty trash bag. NB: Latex paint is not classified as a hazardous substance, so it can be disposed along with your household waste. Thereafter, you can properly recycle the metal cans.
