Lifespan of most ships are few decades, regular wear and tear makes it unfit for use. Salt present in water makes the ships to wear out fast. Life of ship ends up in ship breaking yards; most part of the broken ship will be recycled to make new parts. Ships range from oil tankers to luxury cruisers; it is difficult to break a ship which is in the size of several football fields. Ship breaking or recycling should be done with much care otherwise it could contaminate and pollute the environment. Alang is one such ship breaking yard in India where ship breaking is done with utmost care without polluting the environment.
