Rubber turns better on global cues

The domestic rubber turned better following a sharp rise in global indices. December futures for RSS 3 flared up to 290.6 yen (Rs.98.59) from 282.9 yen a kg at TOCOM. The Japanese trendsetter finished extremely positive hitting the daily upward limit of 8 yen in all distant contracts from January to April 2008. On NMCE, the November contract improved to Rs.98.70 (97.58), December to Rs.98.86 (98.01), January to Rs.99.90 (98.55) and February to Rs.100.80 (99.94) per kg for RSS 4. The November contract rose to Rs.98.75 from Rs.98.38 a kg on MCX. The physical rubber market remained closed owing to a State wide hartal
