SAIL seeks 5,00,000 t coking coal

Steel Authority of India Ltd (SAIL) is seeking to import 500,000 tonnes of coking coal. The coal is for delivery between October and June, the New Delhi – based company said in an advertisement. Bidders must submit offers by August 29. SAIL’s coal imports will rise to 12-million tonnes from 10.5 million tonnes because the company plans to raise output, its Chairman, Mr. K. Roongta, said on May 21.
