Copper Market surplus 40, 000t

World refined copper consumption lagged production by 40,000 tonnes in January this year, against a surplus of 14, 000 tonnes in the corresponding period last year, the international copper study group (ICSG) said in its latest monthly bulletin. The Lipson base ICSG said in world refined copper output in January was 1.547 million tonnes, while was totaled 1.507 million. In January 2007 world refined copper usage is estimated to have increased by 6 percent when compared with that in January 2006.
