Domestic steel output rises

India produce 11 percent more in the year ended March 31 to meet demand from carmakers and construction compaies. Output rose to 49.35 million tones from a year erlier, the steel ministry said in a statement. Exports rose 6.1 per cent to 4.75 milion tones, while imports climbed 6.5 per cent to 4.1 million tones.
