Metal prices rise further

Mumbai, Jan. 6

Prices of copper, nickel, tin, zinc, brass and aluminium firmed up smartly on the non-ferrous metal market here today on sustained industrial demand coupled with higher advices from London Metal Exchange (LME). Copper utensils scrap rose by Rs 10/kg to Rs 195 as against Rs 185 previously. Copper cable scrap, copper wire bar and copper sheets cutting firmed up by Rs 9/kg each to Rs 214, Rs 242 and Rs 209 respectively. Copper scrap heavy also moved up by Rs 8/kg to Rs 212, copper armiture by Rs 8/kg to Rs 210, nickel by Rs 7/kg to Rs 722, tin by Rs 5/kg to Rs 735, zinc by Rs 3/kg to Rs 78, brass sheets cutting by Rs 3/kg to Rs 160, brass utensils scrap by Rs 2/kg to Rs 158 and aluminium utensils scrap by a rupee/kg to Rs 77.
