Metals melt down on global cues

There was a sharp fall in metal prices on concerns over a global recession along with stockists' offerings that weighed on the non-ferrous metal market on Friday. Tin dropped sharply by Rs 95 a kg to Rs 880 from Rs 975 and nickel by Rs 50 a kg to Rs 800 from Rs 850. Copper armature declined sharply by Rs 22 a kg to Rs 316, copper utensils scrap by Rs 20 a kg to Rs 300. Zinc and lead also ended lower by Rs 3 a kg each to Rs 96 and Rs 100 respectively.
