Aluminium output up 2.26%

India's state-run and private companies produced around 310,259 tonnes of aluminium in the first three months of this financial year, up 2.26 per cent from a year earlier, data from the ministry of mines showed Wednesday. The country produced around 136,245 tonnes of copper during the same period, down 19.5 per cent from a year earlier, the data showed. India also produced 133,716 tonnes of zinc during the period, up from 100,247 tonnes a year earlier. It produced 17,298 tonnes of lead during April-June, up from 13,669 tonnes during the same period last year. Gold production in the country during the period totalled 2.36 tonnes, down from 2.52 tonnes.
